The Jacksonville Country Dance and Song Society sponsors one contra dance a month, usually on the the third Friday. See the Dance Calendar for the next dance. Beginners welcome. Always live music. Come with or without a partner.

The Third Friday Dance is now located at Riverside Avenue Christian Church, 2841 Riverside Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida 32205, at the corner of Riverside Avenue and Cherry Streets; dance is from 8 PM to 11 PM; dance basics are taught at 7:45 PM. Cost is a donation of $7; $3.00 for youngsters; bring a food or beverage item to share and take a dollar off. Contact Carole Wetzel at 904-396-1997 or email

The Jacksonville Country Dance and Song Society (JAXCDSS) is a voluntary, non-profit association. Participating in our dances is at your own risk. All participants agree to observe the nature of the floor and the conduct of the other dancers and agree not to sue and to hold JAXCDSS, its officers and volunteers, the band, the caller and any venue harmless from any injury. This limitation applies whether or not you agree to it or have seen it. Participants agree all damages shall be limited to a return of any donation made for admission.
